Revising and engraving this bundle of early works after all of these years was a nostalgic labor of love. Looking back on these beginner piano pieces — the first pieces I ever composed — I am struck by their raw originality and melancholic simplicity. The wandering melodies, the surprising harmonic shifts, the bold gestures; this is music written by someone who is on the brink of discovery, not yet knowing where it will lead, but having a passion for the journey.
Simple pieces they may be, but each component included within it, is tuned to its respective finest making them perfect starting points for any beginning pianist.
